Thorn Tree Safari : Wildlife Unlimited

The Thorn Tree Safari derives its name from the picturesque flat top trees which dot the Kenyan wilderness. The thorn trees have been used by travelers in Africa to post messages to one another : a sort of an historic mail system. One can come across the thorn trees in the Aberdare National park. The Park is home to spectacular treetops and wildlife situated at an altitude of up to 14000 feet.  The park is marked by beautiful landscapes and bestowed with spellbinding valleys filled with waterfalls and streams. Rainforests, bamboo forests and moorlands can be expected at the foothills of this mountain range.

The animals which can be captured on the lens in the Thorn Tree Safari include white Colobus and Sykes monkey, leopards and baboons. If one is lucky one can catch a glimpse of the bongo : a rare antelope which inhabits the bamboo forest and the golden cat. There are tree house lodges and there is the Ark resembling Noah%u2019s Ark which provides good means of viewing the nocturnal wild life. The animals which come to feed at the waterhole can be photographed from the luxury of the cottages perched on tree tops.

Another must see for any tourist going on the Thorn tree Safari is Lake Naivasha which is located in the scenic Great Rift Valley. This breath taking lake is haven to endangered species of birds including sunbirds, Sparry hawks, plovers etc. The Thorn Tree Safari has been an unforgettable experience for many visitors.
